چکیده
Examples are given to show that two natural questions asked in [5] about complemented versions of James’s distortion theorems have negative answers.

Infinite-dimensional versions of the primary, cyclic and Jordan decompositions
The famous primary and cyclic decomposition theorems along with the tightly related rational and Jordan canonical forms are extended to linear spaces of infinite dimensions with counterexamples showing the scope of extensions.
متن کاملKarlin’s Basic Composition Theorems and Stochastic Orderings
Suppose λ,x,ζ traverse the ordered sets Λ, X and Z, respectively and consider the functions f(λ,x,ζ) and g(λ,ζ) satisfying the following conditions, (a) f(λ,x,ζ) > 0 and f is TP2 in each pairs of variables when the third variable is held fixed and (b) g(λ,ζ) is TP2. Then the function h(λ,x) =∫Z f(λ,x,ζ)g(λ,ζ)dµ(ζ), defined on Λ×X is TP2 in (λ,x). The aim of this note is to use a new stochast...
متن کاملOn zero-divisor graphs of quotient rings and complemented zero-divisor graphs
For an arbitrary ring $R$, the zero-divisor graph of $R$, denoted by $Gamma (R)$, is an undirected simple graph that its vertices are all nonzero zero-divisors of $R$ in which any two vertices $x$ and $y$ are adjacent if and only if either $xy=0$ or $yx=0$. It is well-known that for any commutative ring $R$, $Gamma (R) cong Gamma (T(R))$ where $T(R)$ is the (total) quotient ring of $R$. In this...
متن کاملOrthogonal metric space and convex contractions
In this paper, generalized convex contractions on orthogonal metric spaces are stablished in whath might be called their definitive versions. Also, we show that there are examples which show that our main theorems are genuine generalizations of Theorem 3.1 and 3.2 of [M.A. Miandaragh, M. Postolache and S. Rezapour, {it Approximate fixed points of generalized convex contractions}, Fixed Poi...
متن کاملOn permutably complemented subalgebras of finite dimensional Lie algebras
Let $L$ be a finite-dimensional Lie algebra. We say a subalgebra $H$ of $L$ is permutably complemented in $L$ if there is a subalgebra $K$ of $L$ such that $L=H+K$ and $Hcap K=0$. Also, if every subalgebra of $L$ is permutably complemented in $L$, then $L$ is called completely factorisable. In this article, we consider the influence of these concepts on the structure of a Lie algebra, in partic...
